The Licking County Board of Developmental Disabilities
is proud to partner with a number of local organizations
and individuals to provide high-quality services to
those living in Licking County with developmental
disabilities. For those who are interested in partnering
with us, the State of Ohio mandates all service
providers receive eight hours of continuing education
credits (CEUs) per year, however the LCBDD recommends 12
CEUs per year. There is no charge for many of the
training programs (listed below) conducted through the
LCBDD. Those that do require a fee, such as CPR and
First Aid, are offered at a nominal cost.
We hope this page will be a useful resource to our
providers, families and the community. Should you have
any questions or comments, please contact Provider
Coordinator Marina Anderson at (740) 349-1420.

THE EXCELLENCE NETWORK (TEN)
The next meeting is Friday, Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. at
the Service Coordination building, 565 Industrial
Parkway, Heath. After the November meeting, TEN plans to
meet at 10 a.m. the second
Friday of every month, at Service Coordination. Here are
some details:
The Excellence Network is a
resource to providers to allow them to become accredited
through the TEN network, a collaborative of providers,
county board staff and families. There are four counties
involved in the core TEN group -- Licking, Fairfield,
Hocking and Perry. TEN also allows caregivers a sounding
board and support network of their peers. The network
meets monthly to share ideas and learn from each other.
The next meeting is Sept. 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the
Licking County Board's Service Coordination building,
565 Industrial Parkway, Heath. The group already has
been meeting for a year, with a focus on health,
wellness, smoking cessation and exercise for people with
developmental disabilities. Obesity and lack of exercise
has been identified as a major issue for people with DD
in our TEN network communities. We want our providers to
be able to help them with diet and nutrition so they can
lead healthier lives. For more information about The
Excellence Network, please contact Chanda Busse,
director of Service Coordination, at (740) 349-1420, or
Chanda.Busse@LCountyDD.org.
