Adult
Services through the Licking County Board of MRDD
provides employment opportunities with various levels of
support and non-vocational activities that promote
independence and personal growth. By experiencing work
and/or quality activities, adults build the skills
necessary to achieve the goals they set for themselves.
With the level of support needed, adults attempt new
tasks, celebrate accomplishments and gain confidence.
Adult Services continually provides opportunities for
adults to acquire confidence,
self- esteem and willingness to
try new things, the building blocks to achievement.
LICCO Inc., Community Employment Services and the
LCBMRDD Adult Services department is located at 600

from area businesses on a contract basis, and LICCO

SUPPORTED
EMPLOYMENT
Community Employment Services (CES) offers job
development, job coaching, job follow-along and other
support services to help individuals acquire and retain
employment in the community. CES staff members work with
adults in a variety of work environments to promote
individual success including enclave (contracted,
on-site) supported employment, community-supported
employment and competitive employment.

SUPPORTED
EMPLOYMENT - ENCLAVE
The enclave environment is similar in work
responsibility as sheltered workshop employment but with
slightly less support. Individuals are employees of
LICCO Inc. and work on site at local businesses. CES
staff work with employees at these locations and assist
them with meeting contract demands. Staff enhance the
work skills of the employees and provide employment
solutions to the businesses.

SUPPORTED
EMPLOYMENT - COMMUNITY
Individuals
employed by LICCO Inc. work at local businesses with
ongoing support from CES job coaches. Employees work
more directly with the employees of the host business,
which holds these individuals to the same expectations
as it does other employees.

COMPETITIVE
EMPLOYMENT
At the competitive employment level, individuals are
assisted by CES staff in their job search and
temporarily supported by job coaches once employed.
Businesses directly hire employees in this arrangement.
Job coaches eventually fade from the environment based
on employee progress and employer recommendations. Job
coaching staff provides regular follow-up to assure that
individuals continue to experience success and
businesses receive the support they need.

responsibilities, including finding a job after high
school graduation. The Adult Services staff will work
closely with school staff upon request to identify
appropriate placement for individual students. For
